KKK Drug Cartel
I recently read a theory that the KKK got into drug dealing targeting poor black communities so to kill and otherwise keep blacks down. This is interesting and it alludes to some serious issues. Along similar lines as this article, you might be interested in some of the work of Stanford Fellow and author Thomas Sowell.
You know, no one will be able to prove or disprove the KKK claim because they would need to know who is running the drug cartels. If we had that sort of exact knowledge the DEA would likely have taken them down (unless the DEA are all KKK members, doubtful, or the cartels are outside the country, which many might be; otherwise hardly then KKK in origins. But if any group I would be less concerned about receiving false accusations, it would be the KKK.)
But the point is, how can for instance NatGeo produce and air Gangland but the system won't do anything about it? What, do they believe they’re “killing their own” so that's OK? (I've heard this somewhere a while back.) Did you know in comparison, it is safer in Iraq ?
It doesn't make any difference if a white man kills a black man, a black man kills a white man, a white man kills a white man - or a black man kills a black man! It is murder of the highest atrocious level! People are people! (Disclaimer: there is no subconscious meaning associated with the order of white or black here.)
We already proven with genetics and other findings in science that we're all people and skin color is irrelevant; so what is left? Social class? Yes! I believe it is about social class, and some of those politicians who mimic the Sophists of old, look to talk the good talk so to get in power and to stay in power. If they get into office on the platform of fixing the plights of blacks in the ghettos and Ganglands, what would they do next to stay in power if they solved those problems?
Have you ever listened to the white talking head or politician talking about the plights of black folks, blaming the white man and how something needs to be done like chastising the white man and taking care of the blacks - while they live the good life? What the heck?!
I believe there are five main forms of racism America suffers from.
1. Explicit: There are still a rare few like the KKK and Skinheads that prove evolution by showing they have not evolved because they still believe in white supremacy. But the most widespread form of this I think is found in politics - and I'm not talking about Tea Party supporters!
Some politicians and public talking heads cloaked in civil rights activism oppress in numerous ways resulting in encouraging poor blacks to sit back and let them be taken care of, or that they need help because they are inferior. They are saying not only they are the victim but also that they either shouldn't or cannot do anything about their situation - all of which makes it worse!
(Now I’m not saying when folks need help they shouldn’t get it but that help should be geared to minimize their adversity and propel them out of a destructive lifestyle and into self-reliance – and ultimately toward success.)
What is sad is that if that class of people the politicians targeted were white, it would be the same strategy, different semantics. But what if that group could be grown? That political voter base could then be increased.
Slavery may be completely to blame, partly so, or maybe not at all in every single generational plight, but regardless, how does blaming the white man help those blacks? We think we invented slavery? What about other countries that had a larger problem with slavery in the past and don't have the problems America has today? What if this blaming is also intended to induce guilt in whites so they will vote for the person doing the blaming as a form of salvation? Do these politicians really care about blacks? If so, where is the evidence they have helped?
The statistical socioeconomic divide between blacks and whites has been growing since the 1960s. Yet we have implemented more and more civil rights legislation, programs and assistance. Is it solely from implicit racism? Do all white people secretly or unknowingly oppress those blacks? How can this be true if most of those blacks in the ghettos and Ganglands rarely encounter whites? Drugs is indeed a huge factor as it creates its own economy, but I'm hard-pressed to believe it has anything to do with KKK against blacks - the same problem exists in all poor neighborhoods - including white neighborhoods.
2. Implicit: With the messages in society that says, "You're black so you need help (implying even more that you are inferior), and the white man is to blame", is it any wonder an implicit system exists making it seem natural to give into the pressure and be oppressed? The roles of victim, inferior and indigent are induced by this. My work in this regard aims to educate and train youth and (especially blacks) to recognize this pressure and how to ignore it and change it. Publicizing for instance that the Implicit Association Test on Race and having civil rights leaders (even black leaders) use it to prove the white man is racist, only adds to the above message.
3. Class wars: If you look at the politicians, many live the big life - they are the upper class. Many of them want to increase the size of government, secure their job, and increase the dependency on the government among the population. They spend trillions of taxpayer's money to legislate complex solutions some activist group devised to solve poorly-stated problems they never have solved before – and 50,000 feet above the class of people they claim to be helping. As one concerned young black man, who works with at-risk youth, said, "Their programs are not working - and the results are an increasing number of throw-away kids."
4. Backlash: Textbooks today explain a term called modern racism, which is that a large percentage of white people believe blacks get more help than they deserve. There is also a backlash to the blame-the-white-man campaigns and what results is a group of people not publically engaged in civil rights. Politicians shouldn't solve social problems because the science of politics is winning not solving problems. Thus, at best it becomes one group forcing their view of the world on everyone – including bashing all other groups who disagree. What is usual is sophistry for the purpose of getting into and staying in power.
5. Omissions: The government should be involved in law and order and intervening on behalf of society when the threat is high enough. Watching Ganglands grow throughout our cities - even in Rochester , should warrant action. But there is mostly inaction. Ganglands continue to thrive and grow. This increases one of the public negative stereotypes of blacks and the more available that stereotype is in the minds of society, the more it works to oppress blacks everywhere.
I have a friend who is black that works in the same company. He lives out of the city. Once he told me of a couple of black men standing at his front door at night, and he admitted thinking about that stereotype and being scared. The Harvard IAT Race demo shows this - that most Americans - even blacks, prefer whites (this links back in with #2 above).
There are lots of problems. We have plenty of programs, talking heads, and lauded legislation. But where are the solutions and the evidence such efforts are improving the plight of blacks?
